GILLETTE, WY – (Oct. 21, 2024) – Visionary Broadband, a leading provider of high-speed fiber internet, has completed the first of its 16 projects with Connect Wyoming to increase broadband access across rural Wyoming this year.
For the first time, families, businesses and government in Freedom Hills have access to reliable, high-speed fiber internet.
“Bringing this infrastructure to Freedom Hills has vastly improved access for people in the area,” said Visionary Broadband CEO Brian Worthen. “We’re a safe bet for partners like Connect Wyoming, because we fulfill our commitments and invest beyond grants to enable access to reliable, high-speed internet.”
Sponsored by the Wyoming Business Council, the Connect Wyoming program allocated $2 million from the Capital Project Fund (CPF) for the project. Visionary Broadband also contributed $540,000 out of its own pocket for the fiber construction in Freedom Hills.
The remaining 15 projects will be completed by the end of the year, which will bring more than 5,000 addresses online.
“Reliable internet is no longer a luxury but a necessity, and now Freedom Hills has access to the fastest form of internet on the market,” added Jim Ford, Campbell County Commissioner. “Having future-proof fiber will help residents of Freedom Hills stay connected for years to come.”
