ROCK SPRINGS, Wyo. (Nov. 5, 2025) – Rock Springs Mayor Max Mickelson and Visionary Broadband CEO Brian Worthen joined community leaders to celebrate Visionary’s new additions to the high-speed fiber network in Rock Springs, marking a major milestone in expanding broadband access across the city.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony, held at Bunning Freight Station, highlighted Visionary’s investment and continued commitment to strengthening connectivity in Wyoming. The project brings 5-gigabit fiber internet to an additional 381 homes, adding to the 1,594 homes and businesses already connected this year — bringing total access in Rock Springs to nearly 2,000 locations.
“High-speed internet is the key to increased opportunity in today’s world,” Worthen said. “By delivering fiber directly to homes and businesses, we’re providing Rock Springs with the tools it needs to stay competitive.”
Local leaders also emphasized the broader economic benefits of the project.
“Fiber network projects support jobs in construction and create customer service roles once the network is operational,” said Jeannie Demas, Rock Springs City Council Ward 1. “A stronger fiber network fuels the digital economy, creating new opportunities and revenue streams that help the Rock Springs community grow.”
Fully funded by Visionary, the project represents a large investment in the city’s digital future.
This milestone is part of Visionary’s broader initiative to bring high-speed fiber internet to underserved areas across the American West, ensuring rural communities have access to future-proofed digital infrastructure designed to meet rising connectivity demands for years to come.
