ROCK SPRINGS, Wyo. (July 23, 2025) – More than 1,700 homes and businesses in Rock Springs are set to gain access to 5-gigabit fiber internet by early August. Visionary Broadband is nearing completion of a brand-new fiber network which will expand digital access across the city.
The addition of Visionary’s services will dramatically expand capacity in a region that has historically lagged in communications infrastructure.
“Fiber-optic infrastructure is essential for meeting the growing demands of modern life —both at home and in the workplace,” said Ashley Harpstreith, executive director of Wyoming Area of Municipalities. “Visionary understands this need and delivers on their promises. They’ve consistently proven to be reliable and community focused. Rock Springs residents and businesses can look forward to a fast, dependable internet option with Visionary.”
Funded entirely by Visionary, the project is scheduled for completion by Aug. 3 and is part of the company’s broader effort to bring high-speed fiber-based internet to underserved areas in the American West.
“Fiber internet is no longer a luxury — it’s a baseline requirement for industrial operations, working from home, running a business and more,” said Brian Worthen, CEO of Visionary. “This project ensures Rock Springs can compete, grow and thrive with the connectivity it needs.”
