BUFFALO, Wyo. (July 22, 2025) – Visionary Broadband has completed a critical fiber internet project in Buffalo this month, bringing high-speed internet to 143 new addresses spanning from downtown to the airport.
The project, supported by the Capital Projects Fund (CPF) through the state’s Connect Wyoming 2 program, is connecting homes along French Creek Road, businesses on Airport Road and commercial areas along North Main Street near the I-90 bypass.
The new connections are in addition to the 2024 installation in Buffalo that brought connections to 157 addresses. The initiative is part of Visionary’s broader mission to deliver reliable, future-proof fiber internet to underserved and rural communities across the West.
“Buffalo may be small, but it deserves the same access to high-speed internet as larger cities,” said Brian Worthen, CEO of Visionary Broadband. “By installing this critical infrastructure, we’re laying the groundwork for economic growth, educational opportunity and innovation.”
Beyond the CPF-funded build, Visionary has invested in connecting an additional 48 addresses out of pocket this year, reinforcing its long-term vision for Buffalo as a digitally connected hub.
“This fiber expansion marks a major milestone for Buffalo,” Mayor Shane Schrader said. “We’re proud to see state funding supported by Visionary’s local investment — the result is a stronger foundation for our community.”
As the CPF-funded portion nears completion, the project represents a significant step toward broader connectivity in the area.
