ANACONDA, Mont. (June 10, 2026) — More than 2,500 homes and businesses in Anaconda will gain access to a new 5-gigabit fiber internet network as Visionary Broadband begins construction on infrastructure that expands digital connectivity across the community.
The four-phase project began in May and will be completed by the end of August. The future-proof fiber network provides the bandwidth required for virtual learning, work, healthcare, business growth and emergency response services, supporting long-term economic growth and industry.
Brian Worthen, CEO of Visionary, says the company’s goal is to close the connectivity gap for communities with limited internet access or reliability due to complex terrain, such as the mountains surrounding Anaconda. The growth is part of a broader effort by the company to improve internet equality across the American West.
“Building fiber in rural markets such as Anaconda are both challenging and rewarding,”
Worthen said. “Fiber in the ground helps to both retain and attract businesses. We are proud to be future-proofing Anaconda.”
The Anaconda project is fully funded by Visionary, building on the company’s previous grant-funded fiber expansions through Connect MT in Hardin, Butte and Whitehall. The company also acquired Montana based provider MTWeb in 2025, expanding its reach and enhancing service in Cardwell, Piedmont, Pipestone, Twin Bridges and Waterloo.
Visionary has built 80,000 fiber connections to homes and businesses across the Rocky Mountain region since 2023. Its network will surpass 100,000 fiber-fed addresses by the end of 2026.
