Visionary Brings 5-Gigabit Fiber to Rawlins, WY

RAWLINS, WY (April 14, 2026) — Visionary Broadband began construction on its first fiber network in Rawlins this month. The project will make high-speed internet access available to 1,938 homes and businesses in the community upon completion in June.

The new network will allow Visionary to offer residents up to 5-Gigabit speed for faster downloads, smoother streaming and more reliable online usage.

“Today, internet access impacts where companies build, how medical facilities deliver care and whether towns can retain remote employee talent,” Visionary Broadband CEO Brian Worthen said. “By adding access to more reliable internet, we’re positioning Rawlins with the infrastructure it needs to grow and expand opportunities, despite its remote location.”

Visionary Broadband is funding the Rawlins network privately as part of the company’s continued investment in fiber infrastructure across Wyoming and the American West. It aims to serve communities often left behind due to tough terrain that can cause challenges for broadband companies.

Visionary’s future-proof fiber-optic is designed with excess capacity to handle increasing data demands, meaning it can serve the community for decades without needing replacement.
