OCT 9, 2025 – Visionary Broadband Delivers Fiber to More Than 1,000 Locations in Pagosa Springs

A Visionary Broadband truck parked in Pagosa Springs marks the arrival of improved internet service, promising a more reliable and faster digital future.

PAGOSA SPRINGS, Colo. (Oct. 9, 2025) — Visionary Broadband has delivered high-speed fiber internet to 1,028 new homes and businesses in Pagosa Springs, including the remote area between Lake Pagosa and Lake Hatcher.

The federal Capital Projects Fund (CPF), through the state’s Advance Colorado program, supported this project. Visionary contributed matching funds to bring the project to completion.

“The Lake Pagosa and Lake Hatcher areas are especially spread out and remote, creating unique challenges,” said Brian Worthen, CEO of Visionary Broadband. “This region is no longer isolated when talking about Internet connectivity.  I am proud of the difficult work my team has completed in this rocky terrain.”

The expansion means Visionary can offer residents up to 5-Gigabit speed for faster downloads, smoother streaming and more reliable online experiences. Expanding broadband in underserved and rural communities like Pagosa Springs fuels growth in remote work, telehealth and online education.

“High-speed, reliable internet is no longer a luxury, but a necessity in our increasingly interconnected world,” said Eric Hittle, Technical Director of Archuleta County Broadband Services. “Visionary has long been a critical partner in advancing our region’s connectivity, and this infrastructure investment is another milestone in this valuable partnership. It will open up digital opportunities to our community for years to come.”

Reliable, future-proof fiber internet is essential for economic growth and business retention, and this project represents a significant step toward broader connectivity in the area, Worthen noted.
