Skip the Log-in Screen in Windows XP

How to Skip Log-in Screen in Windows XP

You can make Windows XP automatically go to your desktop without having to click on your username every time. This will work if you have just one user set up on the computer.

  • Click on the Start menu in the bottom left-hand corner
  • Click on Run
  • Type in: control userpasswords2
  • Un-check "Users must enter password to logon".
  • Click OK and a box will probably pop up asking you who you want to automatically log in.
  • Type in the username of your user account. Also type the password, if any, otherwise leave the password boxes blank.
  • Restart the computer.
