Problem: You cannot remove McAfee. You go to remove McAfee your computer using Add/Remove Programs. It will not let you remove it. You get a message saying "
In order to uninstall McAfee SecurityCenter, you need to uninstall all McAfee Security Services first."
Solution: Follow these easy steps:
1. Open My Computer.
2. Open Drive C:. It's probably called
Local Disk (C:), or maybe something like HP Pavilion (C:).
3. Open
Program Files, then
Mcafee.com, then
agent, then
app.

Delete any and all files that end with .adf. You can delete them by clicking on the and hitting Delete key on your keyboard or by right-clicking the file(s) and selecting Delete.
5. Go back into Control Panel, then Add/Remove Programs find McAfee SecurityCenter, and click Remove.
6. Check-mark all the various McAfee components (Spam Killer,
Firewall, etc.), click uninstall, tell it yes you're sure, go through the uninstall process, then restart the computer and it should be gone.
