McAfee Says "...you need to uninstall all McAfee Security Services first"

Problem: You cannot remove McAfee. You go to remove McAfee your computer using Add/Remove Programs. It will not let you remove it. You get a message saying "In order to uninstall McAfee SecurityCenter, you need to uninstall all McAfee Security Services first."

Solution
: Follow these easy steps:

1. Open My Computer.
2. Open Drive C:. It's probably called Local Disk (C:), or maybe something like HP Pavilion (C:).
3. Open Program Files, then Mcafee.com, then agent, then app.
4. Delete any and all files that end with .adf. You can delete them by clicking on the and hitting Delete key on your keyboard or by right-clicking the file(s) and selecting Delete.
5. Go back into Control Panel, then Add/Remove Programs find McAfee SecurityCenter, and click Remove.
6. Check-mark all the various McAfee components (Spam Killer, Firewall, etc.), click uninstall, tell it yes you're sure, go through the uninstall process, then restart the computer and it should be gone.

In order to uninstall McAfee SecurityCenter, you need to uninstall all McAfee Services first. In order to uninstall McAfee SecurityCenter, you need to uninstall McAfee Security Services first. Uninstall all the McAfee Services First. uninstall McAfee.com SecurityCenter Security Center In order to uninstall McAfee Security Center, you need to uninstall all McAfee Security Services first un-install un install de-install remove Privacy Service servcies,
uninstall security services, "uninstall all services first", uninstall security services first

Mcafee has always sucked
Working on a laptop for a friend, Mcafee needed to go. Just another bloated piece of [junk] that got in the way of nursing this machine back to health (long story). A quick Google search brought me here an viola! Problem solved, thanks man!!!

BTW, Avast AV rocks, and it's free!!!!!!!!

Thank you so much for this article, it worked like a charm...
I was having a very difficult time removing McAfee, and I'm pretty PC savvy. I read a bunch of different articles on how to remove it, most of which required jumping thru a lot of hoops. After coming across this article, I followed your instructions, and when I went to remove it in the add/remove programs, this time it worked. Thank you very much!!!!!!!

MCAFEE
I removed mcafee from 'add or remove programs' I go to install a virus protector and says I need to remove McAfee Personal Firewall Plus ! And I cannot find it anywhere on my PC. Please help
