Windows ME Dial-Up Setup

Setup for Dialup Access

 

  1. Open My Computer
  2. Open Control Panel
  3. Open Dial-up Networking
  4. Open Make New Connection
    • Name for the Connection: Visionary
    • Click Next
    • Enter the Phone Number: xxx-xxxx 
    • Click Next
    • Click Finish
  5. Right Click on Visionary
  6. Click Properties
  7. Under General

 Uncheck Use Area Code and Dialing Properties

 Click Networking


  1. Under Networking

 Click TCP/IP Settings


  1. Under TCP/IP Settings

 Check Specify Name Server Addr

 Primary DNS: 209.193.72.2

 Secondary DNS: 209.193.68.2

 Click Ok


  1. Click Ok
  2. Right-click on Visionary
  3. Click Create Shortcut
  4. Click Yes (When prompted to make a shortcut on the Desktop)
  5. Close Dialup Networking and other opened folders.
  6. Use the Shortcut to Visionary on the Desktop to connect. You will need to enter your username and password when you connect, which will save when connected. If you want to require users to type the password each time they want to go on the internet, then leave remember password unchecked.
