Problem Setting the Internet up on Windows Experience (XP)

Solution The steps below will walk you through setting up the internet for Visionary on Windows Experience (XP)

Setting up Dialup Access

1. Open Start
2. Open Control Panel
3. Open Network and Internet Connections (may only be Network Connections if so skip step #4)
4. Open Network Connections
5. Open Create New Connection (will be under network tasks)
6. Welcome to the New Connection Wizard Introduction
• Click Next
7. Network Connection Type
• Select "Connect to the Internet"
• Click Next
8. Getting Ready
• Select "Set up my Connection Manually"
• Click Next
9. Internet Connection
• Select "Connect using a dialup modem"
• Click Next
10. Connection Name
• ISP Name: Visionary
• Click Next
11. Phone Number to Dial
• Phone Number: XXX-XXXX (Your Visionary Connection Number)
• Click Next
12. Connection Availability (This does not always appear, skip if it doesnt)
• Select Anyone's Use
• Click Next
13. Internet Account Information
• User Name: xxxxx (Your Visionary User Name)
• Password: xxxxx (Your Visonary Password)
• Confirm Password: xxxxx (Retype Your Visionary Password)
• Check "Use this account name and password when anyone connects to the internet from this computer"
• Check "Make this the default Internet connection"
• Check "Turn on Internet Connection Firewall for this connection" (note: If you use another Internet Firewall such as Norton Firewall or Mcaffey Firewall you will want to uncheck this option)
• Click Next
14. Completing the New Connection Wizard
• Check "Add a shortcut to this connection to my desktop"
• Click Finish

This will setup the Internet Dialup connection for Windows XP
