Problem: Every day, or maybe multiple times a day, you receive a message from Visionary Communications Support <supportlist@vcn.com> with the subject "Visionary Communications Detected Potential Junk Mail" or "Visionary Communications Detected A Potential
Virus". You would rather Visionary just blocked the junk and viruses silently without telling you about it.
Solution: You'll just need to log in to your Spam Checker, also called your Message Center. Do this by going to
http://login.postini.com/exec/login . Enter in your e-mail address as the log in address and your normal e-mail password. Note: your email password might be different than you dial-up password, if you set it up to be different.
Another way to do this same thing is to go to the Visionary homepage,
www.vcn.com
, click on the login tab at the top-right, and then put in your
email address and password under Spam Checker on the far left.
Once you have logged in to the Message Center, you will see all of the captured virus infected e-mail messages at the top and the captured potential junk mail at the bottom. You can read all of your virus
identified e-mails safely without worry of infecting your computer. You
can also go through all of the messages classified as junk e-mail.
NOTE: If you happen to see a message you want to keep, click on it,
followed by Deliver It to send it on to your e-mail account. While you're logged in, you may want to click on Junk Email Settings and make sure it's on and set to maximum aggressive, especially if you've been getting lots of spam.
To turn off the "Visionary Communications Detected..." notifications:
- Select Virus Settings.
- Under Notifications, select Disable Notifications from the little drop-down menu. Despite being under Virus Settings, this setting will disable notifications for both viruses and junk mail.
- Once you have made all the appropriate changes, click the Save button.
- Logout of your Message Center.
