Fighting Spyware in Windows 95

Question: Are there any anti-spyware programs compatible with Windows 95?

Answer: Yes.

Spybot is compatible with Windows 95. If you encounter any problems running Spybot, visit Spybot's Windows 95 page at: http://www.safer-networking.org/en/faq/11.html.

CWShredder is compatible with Windows 95. SpywareBlaster works as well.

Ad-Aware SE will also run under Windows 95, but you must download it a particular way. The program won't install, but the Ad-Aware program itself actually will run. You can read how to get it to work and download it from this page: http://www.oldfiles.org.uk/lightspeed/Ad-Aware.html .

HijackThis is compatible with Windows 95.

With this combination of programs, you will be able to protect yourself from spyware and adware fairly well. Follow the instructions in Visionary's Preventing Spyware Problems help article.
