What is Metro Ethernet?
Metro Ethernet is a service designed to provide synchronous, high-bandwidth connectivity to a business location. Visionary offers Metro Ethernet for a variety of purposes, including:
- office to office connectivity, same community
- office to office connectivity, different communities
- office Internet connectivity
Metro Ethernet uses fiber or bonded copper to deliver speeds starting at 5Mbps/5Mbps and as high as 1000Mbps/1000Mbps (1Gbps/1Gbps). Metro Ethernet is designed around maximizing connectivity between locations for intensive data services, including off-site backup and large file transfers.
Visionary also offers a proprietary 2Mbps/2Mbps service, which is a great solution for smaller remote offices. At less than 1/2 the price of a T1, Metro Ethernet services really shine.
